Frequently asked questions

What devices support VerbCompass?

VerbCompass — Spanish Verb Companion is being prepared for Android devices through Google Play.

Device compatibility will depend on the Android requirements listed on the Google Play page when the app is released.

Does VerbCompass require an internet connection?

The core verb reference, study tools, settings, and saved progress are designed to work on the device without requiring a continuous internet connection.

An internet connection may still be required for downloading, installing, updating, purchasing, or restoring the app through Google Play.

Do I need to create an account?

No. VerbCompass does not require a VerbCompass account or login.

Study settings, the Custom Verb Pool, testing results, and other saved app information remain stored locally on the device.

What is included with Free access?

Free access includes Study and Reference access for all A1 verbs, along with complete Reference access for 25 additional verbs selected from the full VerbCompass library.

Those selected verbs remain available for future use and may also be added to the Custom Verb Pool for focused study.

What does Full access include?

Full access removes the Free access limits and unlocks unlimited Study and Reference access across the complete VerbCompass verb collection.

Final purchase details will appear on the Google Play listing and inside the app when the release version is available.

What is the Custom Verb Pool?

The Custom Verb Pool is a personalized list of verbs selected by the learner.

Verbs may be saved from Reference, Study, or the Custom Verb Pool search. The saved list can then be used to create focused study sessions for lessons, homework, reading, or difficult verbs.

Where is my study progress stored?

VerbCompass stores study settings and progress locally on the device.

Removing the app, clearing its storage, or resetting app data may permanently remove that information.

Can I transfer my progress to another device?

The initial version of VerbCompass does not use a VerbCompass account or cloud synchronization system.

As a result, study progress and personalized settings are not automatically transferred between devices.

How do I restore a Full access purchase?

Use the restore-purchase option inside VerbCompass while signed into the same Google account that originally completed the purchase.

Google Play must be available and connected for purchase restoration to work.

Why do I see a locked verb?

In Free access, verbs outside the included A1 library and outside your selected group of 25 additional verbs are shown as locked.

Selecting an eligible locked verb uses one of the available additional-verb selections. Full access removes these limits.

How do I reset VerbCompass?

The Settings page includes separate reset options for testing results, the Custom Verb Pool, study settings, and a complete app reset.

Read each reset description carefully before confirming because reset actions may permanently erase saved information.

Troubleshooting

The app is not showing my purchase

  1. Confirm that the device has an internet connection.
  2. Confirm that Google Play is signed into the account used for the original purchase.
  3. Open VerbCompass and use Restore Purchases.
  4. Close and reopen the app if the access state does not update.

Reference search is not returning the expected verb

Try searching by one of the following:

  • The full Spanish infinitive
  • A conjugated Spanish form
  • An English meaning
  • A shorter partial spelling

Enabling Infinitive Only can make results easier to scan when you already know the dictionary form.

My study session contains unexpected verbs or forms

Review the current settings for CEFR level, verb type, pronouns, simple tenses, compound tenses, imperative forms, chunk size, and Custom Verb Pool use.

Study sessions are generated from the complete combination of those settings.

My progress or Custom Verb Pool disappeared

Saved information may be lost if app storage was cleared, the app was removed, or a complete reset was confirmed.

The initial version does not synchronize saved study data through a VerbCompass cloud account.
