Frequently Asked Questions
Before you submit your request
Who should become a Founding Tester?
The program is intended for people actively learning, teaching, or
regularly using Spanish who have an Android device and a Google
account. Founding Testers must be age 18 or older.
Do I need advanced Spanish?
No. Feedback from beginners, intermediate learners, and advanced
learners can all help improve VerbCompass.
Do I need technical testing experience?
No. We want you to use VerbCompass as a language learner and
describe your experience in your own words.
Why do you need my Google-account email address?
Google Play controls Closed Test access through a tester list. We
need the exact Google-account email you will use with Google Play
on your Android device so we can add it to that list.
What happens after I submit my request?
We’ll review your request personally. Submitting the form does not
immediately add you to the test. If your request is a good fit for
the Founding Tester program and we add you to the Closed Test,
we’ll email you everything you need to get started, including the
Google Play tester link and brief instructions.
What device and account do I need?
The current test requires an Android phone or tablet and a Google
account. The account signed in to Google Play on that device must
match the email address you submit here.
Why can’t I join directly from this page?
We must first add your Google-account email to the Google Play
Console tester list. After that, we can email you the Google Play
tester link that lets you opt in and install VerbCompass.
How long will testing take?
Google Play requires testers to remain opted in for at least 14
consecutive days. Remain opted in, keep the app installed, and use
VerbCompass naturally during your normal Spanish study throughout
that period.
How do I share feedback?
Use the
Founding Tester Feedback form. Tell us
what worked well, what felt confusing, and what would make the
app more useful for your Spanish study. You may submit the form
whenever you have something useful to share.
When will I receive Lifetime Full Access?
Active Founding Testers who remain opted in through the required
testing period, use the app, and share feedback will receive
Lifetime Full Access to VerbCompass — Spanish Verb Companion on
Android after the public launch. This includes future updates and
upgrades to that app and will be associated with the Google
account used during testing.
